In her August 7, 2009 Wall Street Journal opinion article, ‘You are Terrifying Us’, Peggy Noonan recounts recent events surrounding the congressional recess debate over health care reform.
Whatever side you come down on, you must agree with her pointed reminder:
“…if you’re President, (you) can’t call an individual American stupid…. You cannot allow your allies to call people protesting a health-care plan “extremists” and “right-wing,” or bought, or Nazi-like, either. They’re citizens. They’re concerned. They deserve respect.”
